The 2009 Meeting of the Astronomical Society
of the Pacific will be held Sat. Sept. 12 through
Wed. Sept. 16, at the Westin Hotel in Millbrae, near
the SF Airport. The topic will be education and
outreach for astronomy and over 250 astronomers
and astronomy educators are gathering from
around the world.
The Society has room for a couple of additional
volunteers for the conference. If you work a day as a
volunteer, you get registration for that day plus another day
at the conference free. Volunteers assist with registration,
message boards, audio-visual needs, checking badges,
and other meeting-related tasks.
To get on the volunteer list, please email meeting coordinator
Cinndy Hart with your name, contact information, and days
of availability, at: <chart at harteventmarketing.com>
They especially need help on Saturday, 9/12, and
Wednesday, 9/16.

web site:

The weekend offers a number of workshops for
educators at all levels, while the week has
sessions for those who work professionally in
education and outreach. There are interesting
talks and panels scattered throughout.
