Happy Summer,

SJAA Star Party Tonight
The SJAA has an in-town public star party tonight night at Houge Park in San Jose, from
9:30 to midnight.
There'll be a small moon, Saturn, and selected highlight deep sky objects to observe.

Many people attended the annual Golden State Star Party, which ended yesterday.
Some of those attendees will undoubtedly be at Houge tomorrow night,
with memories of the great dark skies and experiences of being with many friends from all
over the western US
(even from Texas this year - and he was quite a guest!)... come out an hear about what the
star party was like.

Bring you friend and family. Feel free to send an e-mail out about this to any social
networking site you're on,
or to your kids' school's mailing list.

Hope to see you there,

Mark Wagner
for the SJAA

This from Tinka Ross of MTIA:

Mt Tam Enthusiasts -

Our next astronomy program will be THIS SATURDAY, JUNE 27, at 8:30pm in the Mt Theatre.
Professor Lynn R. Cominsky from Sonoma State University will discuss "Exploring the
Extreme Universe with Fermi".
NASA’s Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope (formerly known as GLAST) mission
is exploring the most energetic and exotic objects in the cosmos: blazing galaxies,
intense stellar explosion
and super-massive black holes. FermiProbes the Universe on scales from the infinite to
the infinitesimal,
and future observations may shed light on the nature of dark matter.

Telescope viewing courtesy of the San Francisco Amateur Astronomers in the Rock Springs
Parking Lot following the program, skies permitting.
Car pool if possible, dress appropriately and bring a red filtered flashlight.

Thanks for supporting our programs, and for sharing this information with others.
