The Commonwealth Club is hosting a speaker event on  February 5, 2009, that I 
thought might be of interest to you and other members  of the Astronomical 
Association of Northern California. The speaker of the  event is Neil deGrasse 
Tyson, Director of the Hayden Planetarium and author of  The Pluto Files. Mr. 
Tyson is coming to the Commonwealth Club office on  February 5 to talk about 
how exactly he led the way for the demotion of Pluto  as a planet.  
There will be a wine and cheese reception starting at 5:30,  followed by the 
program at 6:00 pm. The event is in the Blue Room of the  Commonwealth Club 
office, which is located at 595 Market St., 2nd  Floor, San Francisco, CA 94105. 
Tickets to the event are being sold at $18 per  person, but for students,
