Hello AANC friends! Here are some new astro outreach tools - just in
time for IYA! Please share with your Newsletter editors, friends, family
and your astronomy club, museum education friends too!

I just updated my "Viewing Saturn in 2009 webpage. It gives a
month-by-month Saturn viewing information.
http://saturn.jpl.nasa.gov/Education/saturnobservation/viewing2009 It's
one of the pages from the Cassini Saturn Observation Campaign, my
international outreach network of 400 astronomers in 45 states and 55
countries around the world. Read more about it here and check out the
pictures of Saturn viewing outreach all around the world.

Iin addition to my monthly What's Up in 2009 video, tied to NASA's IYA
theme of the month all year, we've created a special IYA video. Here it
is: http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/video/index.cfm?id=804 It gives a shout
out to NASA's Solar System Ambassadors, Night Sky Network and Cassini's
Saturn Observation Campaign outreach teams.

Lastly, there are lots of IYA resources and websites and NASA has one
too. Here it is: http://astronomy2009.nasa.gov/ . Each month, the Hot
Topics and Go Observe sections are worth a look. In January, for
example the Go Observe section is all about Venus.
http://astronomy2009.nasa.gov/observe_jan.htm There are written
features, ASP's monthly Discovery Guides ( I've used January's, it's
great!), my January What's Up podcast about Venus, outreach networks,
educational resources and more!
