Engineers have successfully ejected the dust cover from NASA's Kepler telescope, a
spaceborne mission, has taken its first images of the star-rich sky where it will soon
begin hunting for planets like Earth.

SJAA at Hogue
Friday eve at Hogue:
Beginners Astronomy Class - will feature Pete Santangeli speaking on Astronomical
Astronomical Imaging for Beginners. If you have nothing more than curiosity about
imaging, you'll still enjoy Pete's presentation, he has deep knowledge of the subject.
Following Pete's talk Mark Wagner will give a brief "What's Up" presentation on featuring
the constellation Virgo. The talks begin at 7:30 P.M.
Public Star Party - From 9:00 P.M. until midnight SJAA will host this in-town event.
Bring your telescope to share views with the public. If you plan to attend, help
advertise these events by forwarding this e-mail to your kids' school Yahoo E-Groups,
friends, co-worker, and other mailing lists.
Conditions are forecast to be great - we should have a wonderful time. Saturn and deep
sky targets will be on the menu. Come out and see what's up!
