Dear Bay Area Astronomy Colleague:
I wanted to let you know that KQED
(PBS Channel 9) will be showing a
special on "400 Years of the Telescope"
on Tuesday evening, Apr. 14 at 9 pm
(with a repeat Wednesday morning
at 3 am, for those keeping astronomers'
hours.)
The 1-hour special was made by Northern
California film-maker and active amateur
astronomer Kris Koenig, with a script by
Bay Area astronomer Don Goldsmith. If you
have high definition TV, it will look even more
spectacular, with all footage shot with the
latest technology.
An educational web site accompanying the
show is at: <http://www.400years.org/index.php>http://www.400years.org
A number of us at the Astronomical Society
of the Pacific have contributed educational material
for this web site, particularly on the pages
labeled "For Teachers" and "Resources".
Hope you enjoy the show.
