This from Tinka Ross of the MTIA:
Mt Tam Enthusiasts - We live in a scientific age . . .or do we?
We may accept and depend on technology in our daily lives, but many in our culture do not
embrace or practice the rigor of scientific reasoning.
Dr. Raymond Hall, of California State University Fresno, asks the questions: Is There a
Sharp Line Between Science and Pseudoscience?
How do we discern these differences? And how can the application of these distinctions be
applied in areas of law, public and educational policy?
Join the discussion at the September 6 Astronomy Program in the Mountain Theatre on Mt
Tamalpais at 8:00pm.
The program will be followed by viewing through telescopes in the Rock Springs Parking Lot
provided by the San Francisco Amateur Astronomers.
Dress warmly, it can get cold sitting on rocks, bring red flashlights and car pool if you can.
These FREE programs are sponsored by your State Park and open to all. Students and youth
groups are encouraged to attend.
Thank you for sharing this information with others, and we hope to see you on the Mountain!
(Final program of the season will be October 4, at 7:30pm.)
